Braces and Orthotics

Michigan Care Connect provides financial assistance to individuals who require braces and orthotic devices to improve mobility, stability, alignment, and overall function but are unable to obtain them due to financial limitations.

These devices are commonly not covered or only partially covered by insurance, leaving many individuals without access to the support they need.

Braces and orthotics—such as ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs), knee braces, back braces, wrist or hand splints, and custom orthotics—are often essential for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term mobility.

When insurance coverage is denied, delayed, or insufficient, individuals may face increased pain, reduced mobility, and a higher risk of falls or further injury.

Michigan Care Connect helps bridge this gap by assisting with the cost of medically necessary braces and orthotics, including both off-the-shelf and custom-fabricated devices when appropriate with collaboration of healthcare providers.
