Assistive Devices to maintain mobility
Michigan Care Connect provides financial assistance to individuals who need essential medical devices to improve safety, mobility, and overall quality of life but face financial barriers in obtaining them.
Many people rely on medical equipment to remain independent, prevent falls, and safely complete daily activities, yet insurance coverage does not always include these necessary items or may limit access due to cost, coverage restrictions, or lengthy approval processes.
Items such as shower chairs, commodes, toilet risers, walkers, wheelchairs, and canes—along with other medically necessary adaptive equipment—are often excluded from insurance plans or only partially covered.
Without access to this equipment, individuals may be at greater risk for injury, hospitalization, or loss of independence. Michigan Care Connect works to bridge this gap by helping cover the cost of these devices, ensuring individuals can obtain the appropriate equipment in a timely manner.
